Programmable Logic Controllers
This course aims to enhance the knowledge, understanding and skills of engine personnel on the working principles and functions of programmable logic controllers (PLC) necessary for them to perform a proper and safe operation, maintenance and repairs of automation, instrumentation and control systems onboard ships. It provides interactive lectures, hands-on demonstrations, laboratory exercises, circuit simulations, practical exercises, and assessments in the practical design, installation, operation, programming, maintenance and repairs of programmable logic controller-based systems using industry-relevant facilities, tools and equipment.
Intended Learning Outcome/s
After the training/assessment, the participant/s shall be able to:
- Monitor the operation of programmable logic controller.
- Operate programmable logic controller-based equipment
- Conduct maintenance on programmable logic controller-based systems.
