Pre-test for 2nd Officers Promoted to Chief Officers

This assessment program is designed to determine the present level of knowledge, understanding ,and skills of Second Officers on the industry’s best management practices in bridge watchkeeping in preparation for their promotion to Chief Officer.

Intended Assessment Objective/s:
After the assessments, the candidate should:

• navigate through the IALA maritime buoyage system;
• apply the best management practices in bridge watchkeeping; and
• apply the intent and content of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.

Entry Standards:
Acting 2nd Officer who is a holder of a management-level certificate
