Pre-test for 2nd Officers Promoted to Chief Officers

This assessment program is designed to determine second officers’ present knowledge, understanding, and skills regarding the industry’s best management practices in bridge watchkeeping in preparation for their promotion to chief officer.

Evaluation Outcome/s:

After the assessments, participants must be able to:

• Navigate through the IALA maritime buoyage system;
• Apply the best management practices in bridge watchkeeping; and
• Apply the intent and content of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.

Entry Standard/s:

Acting 2nd Officer who is a holder of a management-level certificate
