Operation and Maintenance of Man 4-Stroke Diesel Engines
The course aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of Marine Engineer Officers in the operation, maintenance and repair of 4-stroke diesel engine.
Intended Learning Outcome/s
After the training/assessment, the participant/s shall be able to:
- Prepare 4 stroke diesel engine for starting
- Start 4 stroke diesel engine in a simulated environment
- Monitor the operation of the 4 stroke diesel engine
- Inspect cylinder head assembly in accordance with manufacturer’s working instructions
- Inspect trunk piston with connecting rod small end in accordance with manufacturer’s working instructions
- Inspect connecting rod big end in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
- Inspect fuel oil injection system components in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
- Inspect cylinder liner for wear in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
