Marine Electro Technology

This course aims to enhance the knowledge, understanding and skills of engine personnel on the working principle of electric motors and control drives and its applications, necessary for them to perform proper and safe operation, maintenance, and repairs of shipboard equipment and machinery. It provides interactive lectures, hands-on demonstrations, laboratory exercises, circuit simulations, practical exercises, and assessments using industry-relevant tools and equipment.

Intended Learning Outcome/s

After the training/assessment, the participant/s shall be able to:

• Monitor the condition of electric motors.
• Operate electric motors.
• Conduct maintenance on electric motors.
• Monitor the condition of electrical control components.
• Operate motor control drive equipment.
