Marine Electro Technology
The course aims to upgrade and update engine personnel’s knowledge, skills, and understanding of the principles of electrical motor control necessary to perform wiring installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical control devices and power circuit equipment on board ships.
Training Outcome/s:
After the training, participants must be able to:
- Discuss the fundamentals of electrical control systems and their applications on board ships.
- Use appropriate control and protective devices in electrical motor control circuits.
- Apply full-voltage starting method in a motor control system;
- Differentiate the methods on reduced-voltage starting motor control system; and
- Modify various motor control configurations in marine applications.
