Multi-Process Welding and Cutting
This course covers the application of hot work safety practices, including hazard identification, risk control, and the safe operation of welding and cutting equipment. It provides practical training in Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW), Oxy-acetylene Welding and Cutting (OAW/OAC), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Plasma Cutting.
Training Outcome/s:
- Identify and assess hazards associated with hot work.
- Apply control measures for hot work activities.
- Perform fillet welding in the 2F position using carbon steel and aluminum.
- Weld cast iron using MMAW.
- Demonstrate the parts and functions of gas welding equipment.
- Carry out tack welding and overlay welding.
- Weld a plate in the 1G (flat) position.
- Perform gas cutting.
- Set up GTAW, GMAW, and plasma cutting equipment and accessories.
