Ship Simulator and Bridge Teamwork with Bridge Resource Management for Officers
This course provides refresher and updating training for Deck Officers on the principles and practice of bridge teamwork and bridge resource management with emphasis on communication, teamwork, leadership, and managerial skills during bridge watchkeeping and ship maneuvering, including, but not limited to, the application of collision regulations in different traffic and environmental conditions.
Training Outcome/s:
After the training, participants must be able to:
- Establish watchkeeping arrangements and procedures.
- Determine the position and the accuracy of the resultant position fix by any means.
- Maintain safe navigation through the use of information from navigational equipment and systems to assist in command decision-making.
- Respond to navigational emergencies.
- Maneuver and handle a ship in all conditions.
- Use leadership and managerial skills.
Qualifications:
Deck Officers who attended the training on either of the following courses within the last three (3) years:
- SSBT with BRM
- Bridge Team and Resource Management
- Maritime Resource Management
- Global Resource Management
