Shielded Metal Arc Welding Course
This course aims to provide seafarers with practical knowledge and skills in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), an understanding of the procedure and proper safety welding practices, and all aspects and technical principles, preparation, and methods as applied in SMAW Operations, preferably in the maritime industry.
Training Outcome/s:
After the training, participants must be able to:
- Understand safe welding practices and principles of SMAW.
- Conduct fillet weld using SMAW.
- Conduct groove weld using SMAW.
Entry Standards:
Must be engine and deck cadets, ratings, OIC, and management-level crews
