Securing of General and Heavy Lift Cargoes for Ratings
The course is designed to develop competence for marine deck ratings on the safe stowage and securing of general and heavy lift cargoes by providing necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills in accordance with the best industry practices and standards.
Training Outcome/s
After the training, the participants must be able to:
- Apply safe working practices.
- Use lashing materials.
- Determine the principal causes of loss or damage to cargo.
- Identify the six (6) types of ship’s motion.
- Use different types of dunnage.
- Identify framing systems; and
- Apply lashing arrangement.
