Pre-test for Chief Officers Promoted to Masters

This assessment program is designed to evaluate Chief Officers’ current knowledge, understanding, and skills in bridge watchkeeping preparation for their promotion to Master’s based on industry best management practices.

Evaluation Outcome/s:

After the assessments, participants must be able to:

• Navigate through the IALA maritime buoyage system;
• Evaluate a prepared passage plan both on ECDIS and in printed form;
• Forecast weather conditions;
• Transmit safety and emergency messages using GMDSS radio equipment; and
• Apply the intent and content of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea.
