Master-Pilot Relationship Course
This course aims to deepen an effective Master-Pilot exchange and reduce ship accidents during maneuvering with the pilot on board and in pilotage water. It briefly repeats the Bridge Resource Management System and Ship Handling and Maneuvering with or without the Pilot.
Training Outcome/s:
- Understand and use the principles of the Bridge Resource Management System if the pilot is on board;
- Understanding and use standard bridge operating procedures with and without a pilot;
- Demonstrate knowledge of ship handling with and without a pilot;
- Demonstrate proper and effective communication when working with the pilot(s) on board;
- Demonstrate how to deal with the critical situation if the pilot is on board.
Qualifications
Participants must be a holder of a valid Management Level License for seagoing vessels and experience as a master or chief officer.
