Global Maritime Distress and Safety System Radio Operator (GMDSS Radio Operator)
The aim of this course is to prepare trainees for assessment leading to the award of the GMDSS GENERAL OPERATORS CERTIFICATE (GOC) consisting of written and practical examinations and efficiently operate the GMDSS – Global Maritime Distress and Safety System equipment during Distress incidents.
Intended Learning Outcome/s
After the training/assessment, the participant/s shall be able to:
- Transmit and receive information using GMDSS subsystems and equipment and fulfilling the functional requirements of GMDSS
- Provide radio services in emergencies
