Crane Handling Simulators
The course aims to enhance the knowledge, understanding, and proficiency of seafarers designated to operate pedestal cranes on board ships.
Training Outcome/s:
- Describe the mechanical parts of a ship’s cargo handling gear.
- Apply the safety guidelines and precautions in operating pedestal and heavy lift cranes.
- Demonstrate the proper use of hand signals.
- Discuss the statutory requirements pertaining to lifting appliance.
- Examine the capacity of the ship’s lifting equipment.
- Describe the different types of crane damage.
- Carry out crane inspection and maintenance.
- Demonstrate loading and unloading operation.
Entry Standard/s:
All seafarers who will be assigned to operate pedestal cranes.
