Continuous Proficiency Development for Engine Ratings Promoted to Operational Level Engineers
The program covers the required competencies of the STCW Code, as amended: Part A, Chapter III, Table A-III/1, considering the industry’s best management practices, standards, and regulations. This training includes lectures, workshops, and simulator exercises covering topics on the principles and practice of operation and maintenance of main and auxiliary machines, maintenance and repair of shipboard machinery and equipment, basic electrical engineering and troubleshooting, and prevention of marine environment pollution and other IMO Conventions.
Training Outcome/s:
After the training, the trainees should:
- Act leadership role
- Comply with port state control inspection.
- Perform basic electrical troubleshooting.
- Operate refrigeration and air-conditioning system.
- Comply with MARPOL and other conventions.
- Perform engine maintenance and watchkeeping.
Entry Standard/s:
Eligible Engine Ratings for OIC-EW promotion.
