Continuous Proficiency Development for Deck Ratings Promoted to Operational Level Officers

The program covers the required competencies of the STCW Code, as amended: Part A, Chapter II, Table A-II/1 , taking into account the industry’s best management practices, standards, and regulations.

Training Outcome/s:

After the training, the trainees should:

• apply leadership and team working skills;
• prepare for Port State Control Inspections;
• transmit and receive information using GMDSS sub systems and equipment and fulfilling the functional requirements of GMDSS;
• apply COLREG to maintain a safe navigational watch;
• plan and execute a voyage Plan; and
• maintain safe navigation with Bridge Teamwork and Resource Management.
