United Marine Training Center (UMTC) recently had the honor of hosting an exploratory visit from The Nautical Institute, one of the world’s leading professional bodies for maritime professionals.

The delegation was led by Captain John Lloyd, CEO of The Nautical Institute, together with Dr. Somiyeh Djavanroodi, Head of Academy, and joined by Roy Akker, UMTC’s Academic Quality and Development Advisor. The visit focused on touring UMTC’s state-of-the-art facilities, simulators, and training environments to gain insights into the center’s training framework, academic standards, and commitment to excellence in maritime education.

The visit expressed interest in UMTC’s training offerings and the quality of education delivered, as the Institute explores membership and partnership opportunities. This initial engagement reflects growing international recognition of UMTC’s capabilities and its alignment with global maritime training standards.
