The United Marine Training Center (UMTC) is thrilled to share the ongoing collaboration with Sealanes and Acta Marine, marking their first offshore crane operator assessment and training with the center. This partnership underscores their trust and confidence in UMTC’s expertise and high training standards.

Trust in Expertise and Standards

Sealanes/Acta Marine initially tapped UMTC for this crucial assessment because of its recognized commitment to excellence in maritime training. After the virtual meeting and discussions, they sent their pre-selected applicants for a preliminary evaluation. Eduardo Garcia, an expert in the field and UMTC instructor/assessor, facilitated the training and assessment, ensuring it met the highest standards of rigor and effectiveness.

In-Person Observation and Evaluation

To witness the actual assessment process, three representatives from Acta Marine joined us on-site:

  • Alessandra Pitocco- Client Representative
  • Jean-Paul Martinot-Acta Marine, Crewing Manager
  • Jeroen Tjoelker- Acta Marine, Technical Superintendent

Their presence during the two-day evaluation allowed them to observe the process firsthand and witness the quality and thoroughness of our assessment.

Successful Assessment and Training Selection

The preliminary evaluation's outcome was overwhelmingly positive. The management team expressed great satisfaction with the process, enabling them to identify the most suitable crew members for further training effectively.

The selected individuals are now undergoing our comprehensive Stage 1 and 2 crane operator courses. These courses ensure that each crew member is well-prepared to manage the complexities and challenges of real-world offshore crane operations.

In addition to the standard training modules, UMTC is providing the crew with three distinct scenario-based training sessions:

  • Drill Ship
  • Semi-submersible
  • Jack-up

These scenarios simulate potential challenges, equipping the participants with the practical knowledge, adaptability, and critical thinking skills necessary for safe and efficient operations.

Commitment to World-Class Training and Safety

Committed to delivering world-class training and assessments that ensure safety and contribute to the maritime industry's success, UMTC proudly supports Sealanes and Acta Marine in empowering their crew with quality education and safety to achieve excellent maritime operations.
