Maritime Melodies: A Night of Music, Celebration, and Community

The United Marine Training Center community came alive on 25 June 2024 as it celebrated the Day of the Seafarers with an unforgettable night of passion, talent, and camaraderie.

The event began with a heartfelt welcome from the Managing Director, Donald Bautista. During his speech, he highlighted seafarers' vital role in maintaining the maritime industry's momentum. He expressed his appreciation for all seafarers and the broader maritime community for their commitment and hard work.

 

Battle of Voices

One of the night’s highlights was the singing showdown, where the representatives of each program highlighted their talents and confidence to brave the stage:

  Their performance filled the air with excitement and anticipation as each contestant took the stage. They delivered stunning performances that captivated the audience and challenged our esteemed judges to hail the winner.

  Special Performance

  A standout performance by one of our talented cadets, Patrick Teope (Deck Cadet), whose stunning beatboxing left the audience spellbound, added a special touch to the evening—followed by an electrifying performance from the UMTC band, which brought lively energy to the night. The band's mix of country and classic hits had everyone raising their hands and singing along, making it a memorable event highlight.

   
  

  
   

  Delights and Prizes

  No celebration is complete without delicious food, and our Culinary Team outdid themselves with a fantastic spread that catered to all tastes. The variety and quality of the food were exceptional, satisfying our guests' palates and adding an extra layer of joy to the celebration.

  Finale

  

  To cap off the night, Judie Kallio extended her appreciation to everyone who attended and reminded everyone to reflect on the positive impact of seafarers globally and the reasons for celebrating their contributions. She then introduced the highly anticipated performer of the event, Imago, whose captivating performance served as the perfect finale.

   

  The renowned band’s presence and incredible talent brought memories and solidified the event. Everyone was on their feet, singing along to their hits. It was a fitting end to an evening that celebrated the spirit and unity of our maritime community.

   
  

  The event had three hundred attendees and was a tremendous success; guests expressed satisfaction and excitement. This celebration of the Day of the Seafarers served as a testament to the strength and unity of our community. It highlighted the incredible talent, dedication, and passion that defines us and set the stage for more memorable events.

  UMTC thanked all contributors for making the event successful and eagerly anticipates creating more memorable experiences.
