First in the PH: UMTC collaborates with Techcross Korea to Provide the First ECS BWMS

In a great move, United Marine Training Center (UMTC), ties up with one of the top global providers of Ballast Water Management Systems (BWMS) using Electro-Cleen System (ECS), to further supply the industry’s high demand for BWMS training for ship crew.

Techcross is one of the top global manufacturers of BMWS, which partners with clients to sustain values in protecting the environment and provides world-class technology which aligns with UMTC’s vision of providing high-quality and innovative training assessment and mission of conserving the environment.

Last November 2022, Techcross, officially opened its 40-foot container for the first time in UMTC that provides real practice with actual Ballast and De-ballast functionalities on board. The training facility will commence its full-scale operation starting January 26 of 2023.

Techcross Training Facility

UMTC and Techcross offer free training for all Deck and Engine Officers starting January 26 until the entire month of February.

This collaboration of two leading companies expects to provide familiarization on the systems and onboard opportunities for Filipino seafarers.
