Safe Mooring Operation (SMO)
This course aims to provide practical and theoretical training for all seafarers to conduct safe and effective mooring operations. It covers standard competencies, including recommendations and guidelines prescribed in Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) Mooring Equipment Guidelines, and mooring code and practices from Merchant Seafarers of United Kingdom’s Maritime Coast Guard.
Training Outcome/s:
After the training, the participants must be able to:
- Plan and organize mooring operations
- Inspect mooring equipment
- Operate winch and windlass
- Conduct mooring and anchoring operation
Qualifications
All Seafarers involve in mooring operation.
