Basic Control Engineering (BCE)
The course aims to upgrade the competency of engine personnel in the principles of marine control technology necessary to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair process control systems on board ships.
Training Outcome/s
After the training, the participants must be able to:
- Explain the fundamentals of process control systems.
- Apply process control measurement on process control systems on board ships.
- Apply transmitter and converter functions as needed on process control loops.
- Analyze the different kinds of final control elements and their applications onboard ships.
- Explain the function of electronic controllers in process control loops.
- Analyze process control systems in a marine control applications; and
- Interpret alarms and safety systems on board ships.
