Engine Room Familiarization
The course aims to provide trainees with understanding and familiarization with regard to shipboard organization and arrangement of various engine room machineries and equipment, and basic knowledge of engine room operation before they embark on their respective vessels.
Intended Learning Outcome/s
After the training/assessment, the participant/s shall be able to:
- Identify duties in accordance with the Ship’s Organizational Chart.
- Apply safety culture in the engine room.
- Use the different communication systems, machinery alarms and protective devices in the engine room.
- Operate auxiliary machinery and associated systems.
Course Prerequisite & Qualification
Any personnel who will be assigned in engine operation.
