Green Marine Specialized Training on Methanol as Marine Fuel- Advanced

The maritime sector faces significant challenges due to the rapid evolution of shipboard technologies to address the pressing need for decarbonization. Therefore, many shipboard systems that differ markedly from traditional systems, particularly those utilized in recent years, have emerged. These advanced technologies, designed to manage the complexities of gases and low-flashpoint fuels, present distinct operational challenges. This evolution has created a notable knowledge gap for seafarers operating these vessels.

GREEN MARINE has developed a comprehensive dual-fuel training curriculum for seafarers serving on methanol-fueled ships to address this critical training need.

This program complements the mandatory Basic and Advanced IGF training requirements. The training consists of two parts, allowing participants to engage directly with experienced facilitators, including Captains and Chief Engineers with extensive operational experience on methanol dual-fueled vessels.

The ADVANCED component delves into the technical aspects of methanol systems, beginning with the regulatory framework and progressing to design considerations. It specifically focuses on the safe and efficient operation of methanol systems, including troubleshooting techniques and the following:

  • Review of Methanol as Fuel
  • Design & Construction of Ships Using Methanol
  • Introduction to Methanol Dual-Fuel Marine Engines

Intended for:

  • Sea Staff
  • Owners / Superintendents
  • New building / Site Team
  • Learning and Development Team
  • Bunker Surveyors
  • Anyone with direct interest
