United Marine Training Center (UMTC) recently collaborated with Macati, a global recruitment company, to conduct a two-day culinary skill assessment for incoming Head Chefs to be deployed in Australia.
During the interview with the MACATI Team head, Mr. Joel Asido, who is also the focal person in this collaboration, the center was chosen for its modern and up-to-date culinary environment, which perfectly suited the needs of the activity.
The skills assessment aims to verify that participants' knowledge and competences meet international standards for overseas employment and comply with Trade Recognition Australia.
Two participants, Chef Rommel Talavera and Chef Joseph Bacabac, attended the assessment. Both have impressive skill sets acquired through more than 10 years of experience as chefs in the country.
During the activity, the tenured participants displayed their impressive skills and collected evidence in the following areas:
- Practicing food safety, sanitation & hygiene following HACCP principles.
- Receiving, storing, and maintaining stocks
- Developing and preparing a nutritionally healthy balanced meal
- Cooking and presenting planned dishes, bread and pastries
- Maintaining kitchen/galley tools & equipment
After completing this and their requirements, they are ready to be deployed.
Macati is dedicated to upholding high quality, professionalism, and innovation standards. They have partnered with UMTC as their facility host to guarantee that their applicants receive a comprehensive and top-notch assessment experience.
UMTC commits to offering high-quality training, assessment, and excellent customer service to ensure the success of our partners and participants globally.
