The course aims to enhance the deck officers' competency in the safe transport and handling of hazardous materials on board.

• Discuss the IMDG Code classification system.
• Demonstrate the use of the Dangerous Goods List (DGL.
• Use of the Provisions Concerning Transport Operation (IMDG).
• Identify the structure of Hazardous Material Table (HMT) 172.101
• Identify the IMSBC Code layout.
• Describe the updates and amendments to the IMSBC Code.
• Explain the IMSBC Code grouping system.
