Welding Training for Class Certification
The course aims to provide training, guidance and practice to all shipboard fitter for manual metal arc welding method mainly for 3G welding position in preparation for welder’s performance qualification and certification through Bureau Veritas or any other recognized welding classification society or any qualifying welding organization in accordance with the approved welding procedure specification pursuant to ISO EN 9606-1.
Intended Learning Outcome/s
After the training/assessment, the participant/s shall be able to:
- Explain and demonstrate the relevant procedure in conformity with the approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS);
- Explain and demonstrate test plate butt joint preparation before welding;
- Identify weld defects and discontinuities; and
- Explain and demonstrate welding sequences and techniques during welding.
Course Prerequisite & Qualification
Fitters and welders who are required to take the Welder’s Performance Qualification test. (BVWTT- Bureau Veritas Welding Trade Test)
