Continuous Proficiency Development for Masters and Chief Mates promoted for Masters
The course covers the competencies prescribed in Table A-II/2 (Use of leadership and managerial skills; maneuver and handle a ship in all conditions; plan a voyage and conduct navigation; maintain the safety of navigation through the use of ECDIS) of the STCW Code, 1978, as amended, meeting the requirements of II/2 of the STCW Convention, 1978, as amended.
Training Outcome/s:
After the training, the trainees should:
- act in a leadership role;
- manoeuvre and handle the ship in various condition;
- conduct master-pilot exchange;
- work with charter parties;
- apply International Rules;
- supervise Vessel Administration; and
- conduct meteorological voyage planning using ECDIS
